The University of Utah Neuroscience Program is a unique and rigorous Ph.D. program that aims to develop well-rounded scientists who are passionate about science and will become the next generation of leaders in society. With over 80 program faculty from 26 participating departments, students receive hands-on training and mentorship in a world-class research environment, covering a wide range of expertise from molecular and cellular neuroscience to systems and cognitive neuroscience.
Through a combination of coursework, research training, mentoring, and professional development, students have the opportunity to develop professionally and take on student leadership roles, such as organizing the Annual Snowbird Neuroscience Symposium and Neuroscience Program Speaker Series. The program also acknowledges and respects the historical and contemporary relationships with Indigenous peoples, recognizing the traditional and ancestral homelands of the Shoshone, Paiute, Goshute, and Ute Tribes.
