Founded in 1936, Franklin Elementary School offers a variety of educational opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade five. A Blue Ribbon School, its curriculum includes reading, physical education, art, music and math. The school provides guidance counseling, food and nursing services. Franklin Elementary School operates a parent-faculty association that works for student welfare. It administers the English as a Second Language program. The school maintains a library, as well as offers physical, occupational and speech therapies. Franklin Elementary School organizes after-school activities and field and educational trips. The school is a part of the North Allegheny School District, which governs middle, high and elementary schools.
