The EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City is home to a professional NBA team, the Utah Jazz. However, the arena is not only used for professional basketball. In fact, concerts, the circus, and other major productions are booked year-round, offering Salt Lake City residents and tourists ample opportunities to see their favorite teams and artists in action. The stadium is conveniently located in downtown Salk Lake City, an easy walk from major hotels and restaurants.
EnergySolutions Arena parking
Even though the arena is located in very close proximity to the downtown area, parking is plentiful and relatively cheap. There are various paid parking lots surrounding the stadium that are within easy walking distance. However, all of these lots are owned by third-party entities, so season-pass parking is not available.
Hotels near EnergySolutions Arena
There are a number of hotels located within walking distance to EnergySolutions Arena. Visitors can have their pick of high-end hotels costing a few hundred dollars a night to mid-tier hotels for just over $100 a night. However, there are no lower-budget hotels within walking distance to the arena.
Seating at EnergySolutions Arena
Seating is a major plus at EnergySolutions Arena. A lot of effort has been taken to ensure that nearly all of the seats have a decent view of the performance. The seating arrangement in the stadium can be converted from a capacity of 20,000 for NBA games to a more intimate setting of 3,000 - 8,000 for concerts. However, if getting seats in the upper bowl, try to get seats on the lowest rows so the kids won't have to climb so far to get to their seats.
Food at EnergySolutions Arena
Food at the arena is fairly reasonably-priced, especially when compared to the food at arenas in other major professional sports markets. However, most of the cuisine is typical fare you would find at any arena or stadium in the country. For that reason, it's best to eat outside the arena before attending an event. If you've never had a pastrami burger, you'll need to try Crown Burgers two blocks north of the arena. If you want something more upscale, the City Creek Center has a number of dining options.
Beer at EnergySolutions Arena
Even with a reputation as a dry town, Salt Lake City is home to a number of bars and micro-breweries, and the beers offered there can also be found at Energy Solutions Arena for less than $10. Remember, though, that no alcohol is allowed from the outside.
Parking alternatives at EnergySolutions Arena
Even though parking is extremely convenient, Salt Lake City has gone the extra mile to ensure that fans can get to the arena a number of different ways, including by riding the citywide rail service known as TRAX. The system has its own stop just outside the north doors of the arena, and runs later in the evening when the Jazz are playing at home.
What to bring to EnergySolutions Arena
Be sure to bring a jacket to activities that occur in the evening, no matter what time of year it is. Utah weather can be somewhat unpredictable, especially in the spring. A sunny afternoon can turn into a cold and rainy evening, so it's best to be prepared for those eventualities.
Insider tip for EnergySolutions Arena
If you are considering eating before a Utah Jazz game, the Crown Burger to the north of the arena will let you park for free in their lot if you buy $20 in food from the restaurant. This not only will save you some money on parking but the Crown Burgers location makes it easy to leave after the game without getting stuck in traffic.
