Willacy State Jail is a 1,000-plus-bed facility for males in the state of Texas. The facility has been operational since 1995 and is managed by Wackenhut Corrections Corporation (WCC) through a contractual agreement between the Cameron-Willacy Counties Community Supervision and Corrections Department and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice State Jail Division. Willacy State Jail offers education programs through Wackenhut Corrections Corporation. The facility has a population of more than 230 offenders. Willacy State Jail is operated by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Research, Evaluation and Development, which is a part of the government of Willacy County in the state of Texas.
