His interest in art and signs started at a young age. As a young boy he would sell artwork to his fellow students. When he was 17, a church asked him to paint their sign. This is what really started his love of sign-painting. He applied for a job at a sign company in Waco, when he found out he would have to work for the company five years to be able to touch a brush, Stan decided to start his own company. Stan worked as a die maker and he painted signs part time until he was able to go full-time in the sign business. Stans' many loyal customers helped his business grow over the years.
