The Third Ward Community Cloth Cooperative is a unique organization in Houston, TX, that focuses on providing resources for children and families in the greater Third Ward area. With a history dating back to 1990, the Cloth has grown to include over 400 community-based organizations, churches, schools, and businesses, all working together to meet the needs of this inner-city neighborhood. Through their twelve threads approach, the Cloth addresses existing gaps and emerging needs, ensuring adequate coverage for children and families in the community.
Recognizing the importance of sustainability, the Third Ward Community Cloth Cooperative established the Third Ward Community Fund Management Corporation in 1995 to support its vision. This administrative support allows the Cloth to strengthen and coordinate its operations, offering resources to fully address new and pressing organizational needs. With core values centered around capacity-building, unity, resources, and shared prosperity, the Cloth continues to make a significant impact by providing information, training, and support to over 600 social, health, and community organizations in the Third Ward area.
