University Of Texas Library, founded in 1984, provides a variety of modern study and research materials to students. The library consists of more than 900,000 books, including 200,000 government documents and over one million microforms. It features a unique Bhutanese architecture and various collections of tapestries sewn by Buddhist monks in Thimphu, the Bhutanese capital. The library is spread over an area of more than 275,000 square feet of land and has a collection of 1.2 million volumes. It has special rooms for faculties, graduate study carrels and an auditorium. The library contains more than 200 works of art, including paintings by Tom Lea and over 100 original drawings by Jose Cisneros. The library is located in El Paso, Texas.
