Founded in 1979, the Glassell School of Art offers a variety of classes, workshops and educational opportunities for students. The institution hosts sessions in painting, drawing, jewelry making and photography. Its Core Artist-in-Residence Program is a nationally acclaimed postgraduate fellowship course. The Glassell School of Art also offers courses in sculpture and ceramics. The institution s Studio School offers courses in art history and studio arts for adults above the age of 18. In addition, its The Glassell Junior School provides art instruction programs for children between the ages of 4 and 18. The Glassell School of Art offers scholarships. The institution is a part of The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
