History
Bishop Vineyards was established in 2005 by Adam and Amy Bishop. They began by selling their grapes to other wineries and still do portions of their harvests each year. In 2010 they decided to open their own winery and the 501 was born. it started out in a building in downtown Childress and in 2015 it was relocated to its current location at 109 Ave. E NW one block South of the courthouse one block off of Hwy 287.
Specialties
We offer delicious wines from sweets to dries in reds and whites and even a rose'. In March of 2016 we will also have three Estate wines added to our list. Most of our wines are made from grapes grown locally by Bishop Vineyards which also owns the 501 Winery. Bishop Vineyards wine grapes include Sangiovese, Tempranillo, and Viognier varietals and has been in production since 2005. Housed in a 1928 historic building The 501 offers a meeting room, ballroom, with stage, for large events and a relaxing, Mediterranean inspired courtyard, complete with seating and fountains.
