The Third Judicial District Attorney is the prosecuting attorney for the Third Judicial District Court, which covers Dona Ana County in New Mexico. The court has jurisdiction over criminal cases, divorce, child support and custody, domestic violence and probate cases. It also undertakes hearing of general civil cases, such as auto accidents, contract and property disputes and violation of civil rights. It has a children's court that hears cases about abuse and neglect of children, juvenile delinquency and adoption issues.
