History
We are an ophthalmology practice specializing in the treatment of eye disorders, including retinal diseases and other blinding conditions. The Practice was founded in 2000 by Sunil S. Patel, M.D., Ph.D. Continued growth has required the addition of five physicians, (1) S. Young Lee, M.D. joined the Practice in 2004, (2) Grant P. Janzen, M.D. joined the Practice in 2010, and (3) Eric M. Zavaleta, M.D joined the Practice in 2013 and (4) Charles Clark, MD. joined the practice in 2017 and(5) Ross Lynds, MD. joined the Practice in 2017. We have 10 locations: West Texas Retina - Abilene, Big Spring, Brownwood, Midland & San Angelo. North Texas Retina - Willow Park, Cleburne, Granbury, Mineral Wells & Wichita Falls. Integrated Clinical Research (ICR) and Strategic Clinical Research Group (SCRG) are our research centers committed to conducting studies that deal with blinding medical conditions. OST partners with ICR and SCRG staff to meet their research needs.

We utilize the latest medical advances to maximize disease management. Through our state of the art equipment, our retina specialists will meticulously explore all options of treatment then personally discuss them with you. Through the advent of earlier detection of retinal changes and the availability of new drug therapies, some people may not need surgical procedures to correct eye disease. Education, prevention, and early management is the key to success.
