Steven Flores, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon focused on providing exceptional care for all of his patients. Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery with an additional certificate of added qualification in orthopedic sports medicine, Dr. Flores has over 15 years of experience specializing in knee, shoulder, and sports medicine injuries with an emphasis on arthroscopy and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Flores treats both athletes and non-athletes of all ages who have sustained injuries or are experiencing issues that they feel need evaluation. He is an assistant professor and the program director of the Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder Fellowship in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Flores served as the head team physician for the Houston Rockets for over ten years and is currently the head team orthopedist for the Houston Texans. He also provides orthopedic care for numerous schools around the Houston area. He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is also an active member of the NFL Physicians Society. Dr. Flores received his undergraduate degree with honors from Texas A&M University. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine and completed a general surgery internship and an orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He then went on to complete a sports medicine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
