History
We are a friendly traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate club open to all practitioners of traditional martial arts. The club was founded 32 years ago, in January 1985 and has grown to over 200 members. We have separate youth and adult programs, and students practice in designated beginner, intermediate, or advanced level classes. Our adult program hosts more than 20 different nationalities. The dojo is affiliated with SKIF Shotokan Karate International Federation, and SKIF-USA. Our senior Sensei is a Director of this organization, and designated Head Coach for international competition. Our Dojo is apolitical, and regardless of our affiliations, we welcome any person who brings a friendly attitude to practice in a serious setting. We believe that karate is much more than a self-defense tool. The way we teach it, karate is a lifelong pursuit of self-improvement and betterment.
