The Selma Police Department works to contribute to the quality of life of the citizen and member of the public. It is governed by the city of Selma in Texas. The city has the Randolph Area Metro Emergency Response Team, which was created in 1998 as a cooperative tactical unit that train regularly on life-saving techniques and peaceful resolutions to conflict. It fire department works to protect and enhance the quality of life of residents through a program of services directed toward public education, prevention and control in the areas of fire, rescue, medical, emergencies, hazardous materials incidents and disasters.
