The Seguin Police Department, established in 1948, is a full-service law enforcement agency. It operates a communication center that responds to emergency and nonemergency calls, as well as provides communication services to various federal agencies. The Seguin Police Department employs a staff of more than 65 full- and part-time sworn officers, civilians and community volunteers. The department has the Emergency Response Team (ERT), which deals with high-risk and dangerous situations, including barricaded persons, high-risk warrant arrests, explosive devices and heavily armed criminals. The Seguin Police Department, located in Seguin, Texas, supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior.
