History
River Bend officially opened its doors to campers in 1955. Originally bought and developed into a campground by Harry Ritchie, it became Ritchies River Bend. Many of our longtime returning families still remember the camp this way. The office building where the suites are now located, was originally a bowling alley! Later becoming a cafe for campers, and now a gift shop to get your river needs. The Yeargan family bought River Bend from Mr. Ritchie in 1970, officially becoming Yeargans River Bend. It remained owned and operated by the Yeargan family until January 26, 2018, when it was purchased by the Traugott family. Yeargans River Bend is now River Bend on the Frio. We will keep the family friendly traditions alive as the past families did. To us family is EVERYTHING! We truly appreciate our returning campers and their incredible loyalty, as well as new campers
