The Plano Public Safety Communications Department provides 9-1-1 and dispatch services for the police and fire departments of the city of Plano in Texas. The Plano Public Safety Communications Department is responsible for operating and maintaining the city s radio communications and community warning systems and providing public education about 9-1-1 services. The department operates the Radio Shop that ensures all radio sites and equipment are being maintained in accordance with federal regulations, as well as tracks all mobile and portable radio equipment repairs. The Plano Public Safety Communications Department provides its citizens with CARE, a program that provides a daily phone call to homebound or elderly residents to ensure their well being.
