Ranger College, established in 1926, is one of the oldest public two-year colleges located in Ranger, Texas. The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits it. The college offers various degree and diploma programs such as computer technology, mathematics, fine arts, vocational nursing, office and welding technologies, cosmetology, athletics, dance and various other courses. The college has fully equipped computer laboratories and its Golemon library holds more than 30,000 books. The collection also includes magazines and newspapers, microfilm, videocassettes, and compact discs. It also offers various services such as financial aids for both general and students with disabilities. The college has football, rodeo, softball, and volleyball teams, cheerleading and men and women basketball teams. Ranger College also has musical bands and organizes musical concerts.
