Founded in 1986, Project Transitions is a nonprofit social services agency that offers education, medical support and transitional housing services for individuals who suffer from AIDS and HIV infection throughout Central Texas. It maintains the Doug's House, which is a residential hospice care unit that provides short-term intensive and respite care services. The organization offers independent and assisted living one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as household items, costumes, greeting cards and gift certificates for patients. Additionally, it is a partner agency of the United Way Capital Area, which is one of the largest social welfare organizations in the United States. Project Transitions is located in Austin, Texas.
