History
The Presidential Room in the Ector Country Library opened in the mid-1960's to honor the memory of President John F. Kennedy. A few years later, it became the Presidential Museum, honoring all those who have served as President of the United States. In 2010, the collection was acquired by the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, becoming the Presidential Archives.
