If you love Texas and Texas History, you will want to visit the Pioneer Memorial Log House Museum. Located in Hermann Park, this authentic log house was built in 1936 to commemorate the centennial of the Republic of Texas and contains artifacts from that period. Docents open the house the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1 - 3 pm and tours are available by appointment at other times.

This looked like a really interesting place from the outside! Unfortunately it's only open two hours a month and we weren't there on the right day. However, there is free parking!
