History
Spencer's Mountain View Lodge was a popular tourist destination through the 40s and 50s. Later, a sunroom and atrium were added on and the dining room expanded. The historic motor court is now employee housing. Modern duplex cabins were added to the property in 2004 under the management of Davis Mountains Education Center, a non-profit providing outdoor education adventures to school groups and Elderhostel participants. In January 2012, Scott and Jenny Turner purchased the property and now run the Lodge. They continue to organize and lead exceptional outdoor learning expeditions in Far West Texas and Mexico.
