Dr. Mazen Noureddin, MD, MHSc, is a renowned hepatologist and expert in NAFLD, NASH, and NASH-related cirrhosis. He was the founding director of the Fatty Liver Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, ranked #2 in GI by US News. Dr. Noureddin relocated to Texas to establish the Houston Research Institute. He completed his internal medicine residency at USC, followed by a hepatology fellowship at the NIH and a gastroenterology fellowship at UCSD, where he was an NIH T32 fellow. Dr. Noureddin has led over 40 clinical studies on NASH treatments and is an authority on non-invasive testing and biomarkers for NASH and cirrhosis. He has published extensively in top journals, including The Lancet and Gastroenterology, and serves on several editorial boards and steering committees. He is vice-chair of the AASLD NASH special interest group and is funded by the National Cancer Institute.
