Lubbock Lake Landmark is a National Historic Landmark and State Archeological Landmark located in Lubbock, Texas. With evidence of almost 12,000 years of occupation by ancient peoples on the Southern High Plains, it offers visitors of all ages a unique archaeological and natural history experience.
Established in 1972, the Landmark boasts 50 years of continuous field research and public programming, led by Dr. Eileen Johnson. As a unit of the Museum of Texas Tech University, it is renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to research and volunteer field research program.
