Ed Irons Middle School teaches students in grades six through eight and is a part of the Lubbock Independent School District. The school s core curriculum includes English, math, reading, social studies, science, Spanish and language. In addition, it offers courses in choral music, instrumental music, technology education, family sciences and physical education. The school maintains various school organizations, including national junior honor society, spirit squad, art honor society, cougar band and west Texas best irons robotics. It has a counseling department that communicates with parents, teachers and administrators regarding student issues and needs. Ed Irons Middle School also has a parent-teacher association of more than 25 members, which works towards academic and personality development of students.
