Lindsey State Jail is a 1,000-plus-bed correctional facility that was established in 2004. It administers an academic education program that focuses on general education development preparation and adult basic education programs. The facility s skills development program prepares offenders for successful reentry into the society. Lindsey State Jail supports various vocational programs that include horticulture, industrial cleaning, and basic construction and computer skills. It also coordinates faith-based programs that include Bible and Quran study, inmate ministry and Jehovah witness. The facility is owned and managed by the Corrections Corporation of America, which is a full-service corrections management organization that specializes in the design, construction, expansion and management of prisons, jails and detention facilities, as well as inmate transportation services through its subsidiary company TransCor America.
