The Legislative Budget Board, also known as LBB, offers a range of financial and accounting services. Founded in 1949, the board serves government agencies in Texas. It is a permanent joint committee of the Texas Legislature that develops budget and policy recommendations for legislative appropriations. The board s statutory responsibilities include performance auditing, fiscal note creation and budget execution. It completes fiscal analyses for proposed legislations. The board also conducts evaluations and reviews for the purpose of identifying and recommending changes in the state and local operations and finances. In addition, it prepares fiscal notes and impact statements. The Legislative Budget Board reviews and finalizes agency strategic plans.
