Jerome Young, M.D.
Dr. Jerome Clayton Young, known as Dr. Clay by many, was born in Huntsville, Alabama. He moved to the Houston area as a baby when his father took a job as an aerospace engineer at NASA. He began his journey in medicine at the age of 17 when he became a member of the Clear Lake Emergency Medical Corps as a volunteer paramedic. He continued in this role the throughout his college years at Texas A&M University where he met his wife of 28 years, Virginia. Dr. Young received his medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center in College Station, Texas. At the end of medical school Virginia gave birth to their first child at Scott and White hospital. After Medical school, he remained at Scott and White in Temple to spend one year in Internal Medicine while volunteering in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, also as a first year resident. The following year he transferred to the OB/GYN department full time. He completed his residency at Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Clinic in Temple, Texas. The Young's brought their twins into the world during Clay's last year in residency. They moved their home to the Houston area, settling in The Woodlands in 1998. In 2002 Virginia and Clay welcomed their last child into the world as they were building a thriving private practice. Doctor Young is board certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologist, is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association and The America Association of Physicians and Surgeons. He and his wife are strong supporters of the Conroe community and has served as a volunteer for numerous charitable and humanitarian organizations over the years, including acting as an assistant troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America, served on the Board of the Montgomery County Women's Center, served as consulting Physician for Family Promise, and Is the Medical Director for The Foundation for Life Pregnancy Assistance Center. Dr. Young is the first physician to preform the Acessa Procedure in the Houston Area. He is now spending time training and mentoring other physicians in the Houston area to perform the Acess procedure. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, exercise and he and Virginia spend considerable time advocating for parents rights and medical freedom. He, Virginia and their 4 children reside in South Montgomery County where they have lived since completing residency in 1998.
