Established in 1981 as Geranium Junction, Junction 505 is a nonprofit social welfare organization that works for the development of people with disabilities. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors. Junction 505 serves individuals who suffer from mental retardation, autism, hearing impairment, blindness and cerebral palsy. It also offers treatment for various health conditions, including physical impairments, emotional disabilities, and seizure, speech and behavioral disorders. The organization is certified by the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services. Additionally, it provides referral services, as well as organizes a range of fundraising activities.
