The Courthouse Security Committee was appointed by the Jefferson County Commissioners Court in 2007. It works to prepare the security policy and procedures for the Jefferson County Courthouse security system. The committee holds meetings with elected officials, department heads, officers of the Jefferson County Bar Association and other interested parties regarding courthouse security. The Courthouse Security Committee is a part of the Jefferson County government, which operates adult probation, agriculture, county clerk, courthouse security, dispute resolution, economic development, emergency management and engineering departments. It also operates environmental control, health and welfare, human resources, juvenile probation, library services and purchase departments. The Courthouse Security Committee is located in Beaumont, Texas.
