Hispanic Housing Education Corporation (HHEC) is a Texas non-profit organization dedicated to developing and rehabilitating affordable multi-family housing for low-income families in Houston. Since 1995, HHEC has provided hundreds of families with decent, safe, and sanitary housing at their Eastend Apartments, while also incorporating onsite educational programs to empower children from these families.
Through collaborations with Gulf Coast Community's Head Start Program, HHEC offers onsite education opportunities for children residing at the Eastend Apartments. Additionally, their Scholastic Reward Program aims to enhance students' understanding of American history and their role in shaping the future of Texas. This program includes trips to Washington, D.C., where students have the chance to meet representatives and influential figures, such as Congressman Gene Green and U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Rod Paige.
