Established in 1969, Jornada Elementary School is a coeducational institution that is governed by Las Cruces Public Schools, which operates more than 35 schools and has an enrollment of nearly 24,000 students. The school has a staff of more than 35 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals. In addition to regular subjects, Jornada Elementary School offers classes in physical education, art and music, foreign languages, bilingual programs, and special and technology education.
