Located in Dallas, the Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy enrolls more than 400 students in grades six through eight. It is recognized by the Texas Education Agency and is named after the American poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The school offers a variety of academic courses, such as math, social studies, science, language arts, music, physical education, computers and foreign languages. It involves students in various extracurricular programs, including Junior National Honor Society, band, choir, student council, theater, drama, pep squad, and yearbook and library clubs. In addition, the school provides opportunities for students to participate in several athletic activities, such as basketball and soccer. The Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy is a part of the Dallas Independent School District.
