History
The congregation that would develop over almost 140 years into today's First United Methodist Church of Eastland first met in a log cabin on the Leon River in Eastland County during 1875 and was served for some years by the well-known Methodist circuit riders. The current building was completed around 1924 and is still in excellent condition thanks to many years of loving care and stewardship. The church enjoys an active music ministry accompanied by two historic instruments - a 1915 Kilgen pipe organ that was relocated here in the 1930s and a 1923 Kimball concert grand piano.
