The El Campo Police Department works to offer services for a population of more than 10,945 residents. It is responsible for offering a range of police solutions. The department responds to over 3,000 criminal arrests, nearly 1,200 crime reports, and approximately 4,500 traffic and more than 5,800 warning citations. The El Campo Police Department also works to perform several formal internal investigations. Its police communications division works to dispatch fire and ambulance services to over 10,000 rural residents in West Wharton County in Texas. The department is governed by the city of El Campo in Texas, which additionally manages fire and public works departments.
