History
It is the mission of the Dallas Chamber Symphony to engage community audiences and enrich people's lives by sharing in the discovery, creation, exploration and enjoyment of great music. We accomplish this by presenting diverse, innovative and imaginative concerts that engage Dallas audiences in the intimate setting of the new Dallas City Performance Hall. Designed to complement the current Dallas Arts scene, our performances serve as a doorway to the symphonic world, giving audiences a chamber music experience that balances both underrepresented and standard repertory, and includes contemporary music, staged works, and pieces with extra-musical elements, such as film, actors, dancers, and narrators. The DCS also provides educational opportunities to audiences and artists of all ages, including an annual International Piano Competition in partnership with Southern Methodist University, a free iPad application to help general patrons learn more about musical programs, and Pre-Concert C
