Morningside Ministries, in San Antonio is a nonprofit, faith-based organization that provides independent living residences within planned retirement communities that offer access to an on-site continuum of quality care for older adults. The organization owns and manages retirement apartments and cottages, assisted living and nursing care facilities, including rehabilitation and hospices. It strives to create innovative programs and services that enhance residents' well being. Since 1961, when the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church founded it, Morningside has offered an affordable lifestyle within a supportive environment where all employees and residents are welcome without regard to race, gender or religion. In 1966, the First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio and the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas joined the ministry.
