Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Hardy-Williams building was built in 1886 and is located at 127 E. Hopkins. An addition was added to the back of the existing building around the turn of the century, almost doubling the size of the structure. The building has housed many businesses over the years, including a blacksmith, a pharmacy and drugstore, and currently, the Black Rabbit Saloon! Renovations for the Black Rabbit Saloon kept much of the old world charm of the 130 year old building, choosing to feature the original stucco and limestone walls and original "drugstore tile" floors throughout much of the building. The Black Rabbit Saloon offers a unique nightlife choice in San Marcos, Texas. One which offers flat-screen televisions at every angle for all your sports needs, thewidest selection of spirits in town (beautifully displayed above the horseshoe stylebar!) And San Marcos' only big kids game room! Skee-Ball, pool, basketball,Golden Tee, darts, and a multitude of video games, both old-school and new!
