Dr Baxter opened her allergy practice in July 1985. She was the first allergist trained in the UT Southwestern Medical School's allergy-immunology program, now one of the most prestigious in the United States. She has continued to volunteer there since completing her training. Dr. Baxter specializes in respiratory allergies, food allergies, asthma, eczema (also called atopic dermatitis), hives, drug allergies, immune deficiences and the medical treatment of sinus disorders. Dr. Baxter has broad interests in healthcare access, and has served on the board of Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic and also founded the Agape Clinic in East Dallas, a Methodist ministry that has grown from a closet to its current major presence near Baylor Hospital in its own 10,000 SF building since 1983. Office hours are Monday through Friday. Lunch for the staff is 1-2 PM, to give patients the chance to come in during the 12-1 lunch hour. The office is open early on Wed mornings and late on Thurs eves.
