History
The Astin Mansion was built in 1920 as the private home of the prominent Roger Q. Astin family. Mrs. Astin lived in the house until the mid 1970's and in 1987 the house became listed on the National Historic Register. It remained a private resident to 3 other families until purchased by 26th Street Partners in 2004 as part of the Downtown Bryan redevelopment project. After months of careful renovation and repair, the Astin Mansion opened its doors as an event venue. In 2011, the Coats family purchased the historic home and has kept the doors of this Brazos Valley jewel open to the public. On average, the Astin Mansion hosts 25-30 weddings, as well as dozens of corporate, student, faculty, and holiday parties each year!
