The Jefferson County Appraisal District, also known as JCAD, is responsible for appraising property within the district. It maintains the Appraisal District office, which determines exemptions and special appraisal requests. The office also conducts property reappraisals and maintains maps. The district values taxable properties, protests values, adopts tax rates and collects taxes.
