History
Originally, founder Barbara Garza created AESA to support highly competitive junior tennis players in the Austin area, like her twin sons Michael and Adrian. She believed a world class education with flexibility, was a must have and the two were not mutually exclusive. Over the next two years, AESA attracted dozens of highly competitive junior tennis players and in 2012 an incredible phenomenon occurred. Due purely to AESA's quality education, great teachers, and fun culture; AESA began attracting large number of strictly academic and fine arts students; no longer just student athletes. AESA now caps its student population at 120 students as to keep their small student teacher ratio. Today, 90% of our attendees are purely academic students, 10% are student athletes or fine arts students, and 5% of our students are highly accelerated.
