In January of 2000, Sono Shipping LLC ( Sono ) was founded by Mr. Kim Thomsen. Kim has previous been in the maritime shipping industry for 20 years and wanted to form his own company. The concept became a reality and Sono was appointed exclusive agents in June 2000 for Meridian Bulk Carriers Ltd. ( Meridian ). Meridian ceased business in June 2010 and during the 10 years that Sono and Meridian worked together, there have been concluded hundreds of period/time charter and cargo/voyage fixtures in the dry cargo sector ranging in tonnage size between 10, 000 - 60, 000 dead weights. Some of Sono's other clients include Universal Shipping BV, Whitehawk Enterprises Ltd, and Five Star Bulkcarriers Ltd. Sono has served these clients in the areas of commercial management, joint venture management and exclusive agent.
