Founded in 1896, Youth Villages is a nonprofit organization that provides services to emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and families. It offers in-home, residential treatment, foster care and adoption programs. The organization also provides community-based, transitional living and specialized crisis services. It assists clients in daily activities, such as feeding, dressing, learning, communicating and bathing. The organization also organizes various recreational and enrichment activities and offers counseling and training sessions. Its CHOICES program includes intensive family-based services to children and adults with a variety of developmental disabilities. Youth Villages centers for intensive residential treatment features a nursing station, activity rooms, bedrooms and outdoor play areas. The organization employs counselors and teachers and maintains a location in Johnson, Tenn.
