HistoryAfter working in local Chattanooga media for 20 years - the last 10 at the ABC affiliate - I accepted an offer to head up the video department of a high-end real-estate company with offices throughout the Southeast US. Great opportunity - terrible timing. Within a year, the bottom fell out of the mortgage market, and I found myself without a job in a lousy economy. So I started freelancing, connected with some ad agencies, picked up several clients and eventually, a part-time job. Fast forward a few years, and I had more active clients than freelancing jobs. As the economy improved, I made the decision to continue working for myself instead of pursuing a full-time job.
