The Hamblen County Department of Education consists of seven members who are responsible for setting educational policies for the Hamblen County School System. The Hamblen County School System provides a range of educational and extracurricular programs for students in kindergarten through grade12. It has several departments, such as administration, business, special services, instructional technology, career and technical education, school nutrition, transportation and maintenance. The school system offers a variety of gifted education, homebound instruction, special education and extended school programs. It also provides various staff development opportunities.
