The Greene County School System provides quality educational experiences and extra-curricular activities to approximately 7,500 students enrolled in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The basic education and majority of the special education services are delivered through 11 elementary schools, one middle school, and four high schools. All of the elementary schools with the exception of two, Doak Elementary and Chuckey Elementary, enroll students in kindergarten through grade eight. Doak and Chuckey enroll students in kindergarten through grade five. All elementary schools with the exception of Glenwood have at least one pre-K classroom, and Mosheim, the largest school in the system, houses both an elementary and middle school. Additional programs located at the Thomas Howard McNeese Education Center include an alternative school, ROTC, the Early Learning Program ELP , Bridges to Success, and B.E.S.T. The success of these programs is a direct result of the hard-work and dedication of the approximate 560 certified and 314 classified personnel employed by the system.
