History
Newly re-opened July 2019 as the Giles County Animal Shelter! We proudly serve the residents of Giles County, as well as the City of Pulaski, Lynnville, Minor Hill and Elkton. Our Animal Control Officer responds to complaints regarding dogs that are running at large and handles neglect and animal cruelty cases for dogs, cats and livestock. It is our mission to inform our community of state laws and city ordinances in place for vaccinations, tethering/chaining, and sheltering needs. Any dog impounded by our shelter can be reclaimed by his rightful owner during a 72 hour hold period or if the dog has an identification there will be a 5 business day hold. If unclaimed, all healthy/adoptable dogs will be put up for adoption or sent to a registered 502c3 rescue. We are proud to announce our shelter is currently a no-kill shelter meaning our adoption rate is at or above 90%. To ensure this percentage, please spread the word of our shelter to help promote more adoptions!
