History12 South Dharma Center (2010 - 2013) Dave Smith started a weekly meditation group at the 12th South Dharma Center. As attendance started to pick up, Dave decided to expand the group to two weekly sessions. The seeds were growing and Dave decided to take a leap of faith to start a dedicated Buddhist Meditation Center. Against The Stream - Charlotte Pike (2013 - 2017) In the Spring of 2013, Dave secured a location for the newly formed religious non-profit, Against the Stream Nashville. The group eventually expanded into 4 weekly groups, In the Fall of 2014, Dave Smith headed out to L.A. to continue his teaching and complete his training, turning over daily operations to our current guiding teacher, Andrew Chapman. Wild Heart Meditation Center (2017 - Present) Summer of 2017, we moved to East Nashville. With the generous help of several community members, the building was transformed and the grand opening was October 1st, 2017.SpecialtiesWild Heart Meditation Center is a non-profit organization committed to creating and supporting communities of people interested in integrating the Buddha's teachings into their everyday lives. We value the principles of non-violence, kindness, compassion, gratitude, wisdom & equanimity. We have a simple mission, to make the teachings and practices of the Buddha available to all who are interested. Everyone is welcome. We welcome people from all racial, gender, socio-economic, sexual orientation, political and religious identities and believe that the path of awakening is attainable by all and should therefore be made available to all.
