History
Chattanooga WorkSpace's current building used to be home to St. Barnabus Nursing Home. The building was completely renovated to make affordable working studios for artists in downtown Chattanooga. Chattanooga WorkSpace is the brain child of Chris Thomas, owner of Chattanooga Market. Chris wanted to create a place for artists to work other than just their home. He wanted a dedicated space for them to create & collaborate with other artists. By doing this we brought new life to a building that was not being used. But not only to an old building but to an area in downtown Chattanooga that is continuing to grow. With the help of Kathy Lennon, the Director of WorkSpace, it has grown to over 42 studios & over 55 artisans. Come by & visit anytime during our business hours to explore the 4 floors of working studios & local art. We host a Free, family friendly, Open Studio Nights the first Friday of each month from 5:30-8:30 with live demonstrations, snacks, local art for sale, & live music.
